Please hold the line
Please hold the line is the current social sculpture in preparation, in which a long dining table will be set up at four different locations in Lebanon. A white tablecloth will be used to set the table and lunch will be served to different ethnic and religious groups, some of whom are hostile! How does the food of the others taste like? Beirut, Bakaa, Tripoli and Tyros are home to strong contrasts and generate fields of tension, ranging from wealth to refugee camps. Everyday racism and hostility causes the people here to lose their trust in each other and to gape further and further apart. The very same tablecloth will travel to all the locations and will serve as a canvas for all the scenarios. Under artistic instruction, the participants* will paint their messages to the “others” and the tablecloth will slowly transform itself into a universal painting.
The project account is opened via Paypal and bank transfer.
